We are looking for a Boilermaker / Welder to fabricate and perform maintenance, overhaul, repair, factory condition monitoring, equipment and machinery services in a safe and cost effective manner to maximize reliability and availability of equipment, while allowing the achievement of production goals.

Job description:

Join our Kumba Iron Ore family in our Sishen Operation as a Boilermaker learnership. This is a key role within the engineering team, where you will be responsible for:

Provide effective maintenance of plant equipment and related machinery with respect to fabrication, installations and welding to ensure optimum use.
Identify and report faults, equipment failures and the time required to complete repairs
Support plant personnel by ensuring that necessary preparations for servicing and maintenance tasks of plant and equipment are carried out in accordance with standard maintenance practices.
Continuously monitor the progress of maintenance and readiness activities related to planned programs to achieve operational objectives.
Liaise with relevant staff to organize assistance regarding required resources.
Make sure the information provided is accurate and understandable, provide regular feedback, and track progress to successfully develop and equip learners
Comply with all requirements of health and safety practices and promote good internal management to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver results in a controlled risk environment.
This role is in the engineering department in a J4 band and reports to the engineering supervisor.

Qualifications:

You will need the following:

-Grade 12 / N3
-Commercial certificate: Plate welder
-Driving license: code B (light vehicle); Code C (heavy vehicle)
