The South African Police Service (SAPS) invites members of the community who are strong, intelligent, physically and spiritually committed and willing to volunteer their country as reservists, to assist the South African Police Service in the fight against crime. .
A person who voluntarily resumes with the South African Police Service without expecting any compensation for the work.
In terms of the South African Reserve Police Service, you may be asked by the National Commissioner to perform functions to strengthen and support the police in the execution of their constitutional duties as defined in Article 205 of the Constitution of the Republic. South Africa, 1996 and that you will not receive a salary (unless requested). You are required to do at least sixteen (16) hours of volunteering per month.
Basic requirements for appointment:
COVER: Must be a South African citizen from birth at age 20 and under 50
TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT: complete a health questionnaire determined by the National Commissioner, at your own expense, as confirmed by a registered medical practitioner.
WISDOM: You are expected to perform the execution tasks mentally and physically

Qualification: have at least a high certificate (grade 12) or a national (vocational) level 4 certificate, which must be provided with a voucher
SPIRITUAL LANGUAGE: Can speak, read and write at least two official languages, one of which is English
GETTING PROCESS: Have his fingerprints and DNA sample taken after the test questionnaire is displayed or examined.
TRAINING: Eligible for training that may be determined by the National Commissioner
EFFECTIVE AGREEMENT: You are willing to take the oath of office

Recruitment / selection / selection processes
All applicants will undergo a psychiatric evaluation, be examined medically and thereafter with your doctor / physician and consultant.

The Criminal Law (Forensic Procurement) Act 37 of 2013 requires that all persons appointed to the SAPS from 31 January 2015 must provide a buccal sample (inside the cheek) for access to their forensic DNA information. The forensic DNA profile taken from the sample will be uploaded to the elimination index of the national forensic DNA database.
The SAPS may also publish the names of applicants in the press for comment.
Taking into account the physical requirements of the Personnel Training Program, applicants with chronic illnesses, physical injuries or other health conditions are determined. Failure by applicants to disclose these procedures will result in them being determined on a training page.
According to the SAPS dress code, applicants with visible tattoos when wearing a uniform are excluded.
Staff Training Program
Selected candidates will be invited to the Reservist Training Program, but the Reservist Training Program will not be an opportunity, so successful people will have to attend after hours and on weekends because of your work commitments. Effective investigators conduct regular police operations on stationary units. As such, they will perform one or more of the following tasks:
