Unisa Application Re-Open: You can Apply now.

Unisa have changed the application model to be open and continuous. This means that applications will remain open throughout the year. Visit the application’s website for frequently asked questions and updates. Frequently Asked Questions: Undergraduate qualifications, degrees and postgraduate diplomas

What do we mean by “open applications”?

This means that Unisa’s applications will be accepted throughout the year. However, it cannot guarantee that you can enroll for the next semester or even for the next academic year. Among other things, it depends on whether you meet the required entry requirements, whether the qualification is full (too many subscribed) and the registration period has started. It is also subject to the minimum training periods of 15 weeks for semester modules and 30 weeks for year modules.

Is there a deadline to submit applications?

There is currently no end date. However, special qualifications can be closed for applications if the qualification is full or at least two weeks before the start of the registration period.

When should you apply for the next semester?

You can apply for the next semester at any time. You can be offered a place, but it depends, among other things, on whether you meet the required admission requirements, whether the qualification is full and the enrollment period has begun (e.g. enrollment period for the first semester of 2020; applications must be allowed) only December 24, 2019). Applications received during the registration period are considered for the next academic term (semester / year).

How long will it take for Unisa to respond or present?

Unisa will make an offer as soon as possible. The feedback end date is at least one week before the registration end date.

How long should I accept or decline an offer?

You have 10 days to accept or decline the offer. If you do not accept or reject the offer, the place will be awarded to another student.

How do I know if a qualification is fully subscribed (fully)?

The application system will tell you if the qualification is complete. You must then apply for a qualification the next semester (if the qualification is available for the next semester) or another qualification.

When can I sign in and have a seat, when can I register?

Unisa will notify you of the registration dates in your acceptance letter. Unisa typically follows this registration cycle:

Registration for the 1st semester takes place in January.

Registration for the 2nd semester runs from mid-June to mid-July.

Annual modules are enrolled from January to March (with a few exceptions, such as the College of Accounting Masters Degrees and some awards).
Frequently asked questions: master’s degrees (course paper)

Other Opportunity: Funza Lushaka Teaching Bursary

What do we mean by “open applications”?

This means that Unisa’s applications will be accepted throughout the year. However, this does not guarantee that you can register for the school year in question. Among other things, it depends on whether you meet the required entry requirements, whether the qualification is full and the registration period has begun. It is also subject to a minimum training period of 30 weeks in annual modules. There is no enrollment for the master’s degree in the second semester, as all modules are annual modules.

Is there a deadline to submit applications?

There is currently no end date. However, specific qualifications can be closed for applications once the qualification is completed. The selection takes place in December, January and February, and you will be notified of the result of the application at least two weeks before the closing date for registration.

Applications received after selection will be processed. Admission will be subject to meeting the required admission requirements, completing the qualification and starting the enrollment period (e.g., receipt of 2020 applications will be sent to the relevant academic unit before the due dates). Applications received later will be withdrawn if space is left. Once the qualification is completed, it will be removed from the list of online applications until places that depend on the end date of registration are available.

How long will Unisa take to respond or provide feedback?

Students are admitted on the basis of the following criteria: (i) suitability and viability of the proposed study, (ii) adequate supervisory capacity, and (iii) scientific expertise in the discipline or department. Selection takes place in December, January and February. The feedback end date is no later than two weeks before the registration end date.

How do I know if a qualification is fully subscribed?

The application system will tell you if the qualification is complete. Qualifications will no longer appear on the list of available qualifications in the online application system. You then have to apply for an alternate qualification or wait until the qualification you have chosen becomes available (i.e. it will only be available for the next school year).

When am I signed in and confirmed when can I sign up?

Research masters and PhD students usually register between January and March each year. Please note that the DBL degree has an earlier closing date for registration.
